Avonbridge
Parish Church of Scotland Groups Kirk Session – The
Session is chaired by the Moderator (the Parish Minister, sometimes referred
to as the Teaching Elder) and consist of members of the Congregation who have
been Ordained to the role of Ruling Elder. Currently, as there is a vacancy, the Session is
chaired by our Interim Moderator, the Rev Ian Walker and the Session Clerk is
Mr James H White. The session is responsible for the spiritual life
of the congregation. The Moderator and
an Elder represent the Congregation at meetings of West Lothian Presbytery. Congregational Board - The Congregational Board
consists of Elders (ie members of the Session) and also a number of member of
the congregation who are elected at the Annual General Meeting and serve for
a period of three years. The Congregational Board is responsible for
looking after the finances and the fabric (ie property) of the Congregation
and it meets around 6 times a year, about once every two months. Details of meeting dates are in the Diary
Section. The Congregational Board Convenor is Mrs Aileen
Thomson and the Clerk to the Board, James H White. Avonbridge Pastoral
